Graduate of the University of California, Berkeley, in Comparative Literature. A key member of the Performance Workshop, Ting is one of the very few all-round playwright-director-actresses in Taiwan’s theatre circle.

Plays she has directed include Love On A Two-Way Street, We Won't Pay! We Won't Pay!, Finding Shangri-La, Just Play It, This is Real, A Blurry Kind of Love, The Lone Men Hotel.

Her acting credits include Secret Love in Peach Blossom Land (1991, 1999), Red Sky, I.Me.He.Him, A Dream Like A Dream (2005), and Like Shadows.

Ting's feature film Finding Shangri-La received the award for Best Cinematography at the 32nd Cairo International Film Festival and the Film Channel Media Grand Award at the 12th Shanghai Film Festival.
